What can I tell you about Harkers? They work in pairs- usually a biologist and a mechanic. One cultivates the angels so that the other can exploit their biological features for use in their ramshod contraptions. I’ve seen a sword cut with the broken edge of a halo. I’ve seen dune rigs use angel tears for fuel. Why- once I saw someone pull a gun that contained a cordfrog so with venom so volatile that the projectile combusted the second he pulled the trigger. It took off his entire arm, but it also killed roughly two dozen scavengers in one blinding blast.

Our society teems with this technology. Dangerous, illegal, and untested. But the sad truth is that without the Harker’s illegal inventions, society wouldn’t function at all.

This is the last page of the record that I managed to salvage from [REDACTED]. If anything remains, only the ravens know. I’m uploading this here as a prayer that someone out there will catch what I missed, will connect some dots that I couldn’t find. Do it for me. I’m putting my life on this mystery. There’s a hammer right beside my keyboard, and the second I publish this post, I’m gonna put it to use. This computer was nice while it lasted. Thanks for twelve years of service, old girl.

This is where I take my leave. I’m headed to the deep west, somewhere that would give even the most grizzled Bureau agents pause. But who am I kidding?

No leaker has ever escaped the Bureau’s hounds.

But there’s a first for everything, right?
